For a long time, I was looking for the perfect basic salad dressing for everyday salads. Nothing fancy, and nothing complicated. After playing around with different flavor combinations, I found one online which featured honey and mustard at its core. I love the balance of sweet with tangy, and the pungent garlic too. But for the home cook, I tweaked the recipe to make it even easier.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon coarse mustard (or any mustard)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 large garlic clove minced
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
3/4 cup olive oil
Method
Dump all these ingredients in a mixie / blender, and blend till smooth. Store in an air tight jar, and enjoy on any salad / grilled fish / chicken. Sometimes I make double / triple of this, it keeps quite well in the fridge.
